THE GENESIS OF X-CEL, the urban gospel duo



The formation of the sensational gospel music duo X-CEL can be alluded to the formation of an alloy from two metals or a metal and non-metal with different properties and characteristics. Moreover, the traditional way of making alloys also follows the principle where the different components of the alloy are heated and melted to become liquids. They are then mixed together, heated and then allowed to cool into what is called a solid solution, an alloy of improved properties and strength. 

So why the talk of the formation of alloys today? Well this is to relate to the origins of this promising gospel duo of X-CEL; their early beginnings, their philosophy as gospel artistes, their vision and future prospects as a group.

X-CEL is a remarkable urban gospel group made of K-Jay and Dj Lord, officially known as Adamtey Solomon Kwadjo and Tettey Frank Lord. The very beginnings of the group can be traced to the early days of January, 2015. Just as an alloy consists of two varying elements of different properties combined into one, X-CEL is a dynamic duo who individually have distinguishable talents that have been fully combined to fulfill their mandate which is to preach the Word of God through music. 

The duo forged this indissoluble partnership according to the popular axiom which states that, “Alone we can do little, but together we can do so much.” The partnership further gives them the platform to share ideas, joy and inclusion. The beauty of their collaboration is that their individual strengths and wisdom are combined to full accomplishment to the glory of God. 

For the group X-CEL, music for them is more than just a lyrical literature. Music is a higher revelation than that of the philosophy of men. It is a divine masterly touch finding places within our soul. It is a mystic rhythmic sound that captivates and rouses sensations, cleanses the soul and inspires. It is even considered the speech of angels by some people.  

The group has 8 songs and a video to their credit as at June 2016. Their musical journey begun with their debut song, “Thanks and praise” featuring Deladem and produced by DJ Lord. Since then, it has been a cumbersome upward curve with some performances at Gospel Rock Shows and sharing the same stage at events with other sensational gospel artistes such as the Truth urban gospel group, amongst a host of other gospel artistes.

Excellence in music cannot be acquired without constant practice and that is the hallmark of this prodigious forthcoming group. The group strongly believes that Music can change the world because it can change people.
