Focus on Jesus

Service to God

Focus on Jesus.
Watching every heated race on the tracks, is a sight to behold. The energy drive and focus is a wonder.
Having been part of athletic meets, I have come to understand one important principle there is, FOCUS.
Hebrews 12:2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honour beside God's throne.
The Christian journey as we have come to know, is a race.1 Corinthians 9:24. Just as every other race requires, that which will drive you on, till the prize is won.
Who to watch, who to look out for. That one person or thing that will drive you and cause you to push harder. The limit indeed is set at a higher ground the same ground that has the prize.
Focusing on the Jesus, as our scripture tells us is the sure way. In the first place, He grants us the opportunity to be on the race. With His grace, the grace of a champion, He guards us to the end of the race until the prize is won.
Paul in his 2nd letter to Timothy, said I have run the race, I have kept the faith…..
Having won a race is appearing as the best. Standing out as the one that which the troubles did not reduce your speed, but yet fighting on won the race. Having the faith that He that started a good thing with you will bring you to the successful end.
Who, what and where you focus on, determines what you prize will become.
Many have lost the race for having a wrong focal point. The likes of ‘competitors’ in the race, the journey ahead, the scorching sun, the booing away crowd. These are all but leading to a loss as far as this race is concerned.
Today, I draw your minds to one secret in service, that you keep your eyes on Christ. Looking onto Him, Who himself is the prize, He that has won the prize. The one who has fought on endured till he reached the level of honour, of the crowning.

God bless you.
In Jesus Name, Amen!!!
